‘A day in the life’ of a healthcare assistant at Esker Lodge

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) is pleased to announce an insightful event in collaboration with Esker Lodge Nursing Home, titled ‘A Day in the Life of a Healthcare Assistant’.

This event will take place on Friday, June 28, from 10am to 12 noon at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan.

This in-person event is designed to offer participants a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the rewarding and challenging role of a Healthcare Assistant. Whether you’re a recent school leaver, a graduate, or someone contemplating a career change, this event is perfect for anyone interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.

During the event, attendees will:

- Experience the daily responsibilities and tasks of a Healthcare Assistant at Esker Lodge Nursing Home.

- Learn about the fully funded QQI Level 5 Major Award Healthcare Traineeship, a comprehensive programme designed to equip trainees with the essential skills and knowledge for a career in healthcare.

- Meet past trainees and current employees who will share their experiences and insights.

- Tour the Esker Lodge Nursing Home facilities and meet the residents.

- Gain a deeper understanding of the important role that carers play in the community and see if this fulfilling profession is the right fit for them.
