Good deal of dry, warm weather on horizon

Turning milder day by day with a good deal of dry weather. That's the national outlook from Met Éireann.

Rather cloudy today in the north, west and far southwest with isolated light patches of rain and drizzle. Dry elsewhere with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, coolest for Atlantic coastal areas, in a light, occasionally moderate southwest wind, but turning fresher in the west and northwest later.

A mild night with cloud extending eastwards over the country with a few spots of light rain or drizzle. More persistent rain will push into Atlantic coastal areas towards morning. Temperatures not falling below 10 to 14 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds, fresher for Atlantic coasts.

A cloudy start tomorrow (Friday) with outbreaks of rain along Atlantic areas, gradually tracking eastwards to most areas through the morning. Through the afternoon and evening, sunny spells and isolated showers will move in from the west to all but eastern areas. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with mostly moderate southerly winds, veering westerly and easing as the rain clears.

The last of the rain in the east will clear away quickly leaving a largely dry night on Friday with long clear spells and just a few passing showers possible. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in light southwesterly or variable breezes.

Saturday will bring sunny spells at first along with a few light showers before turning cloudier through the morning with some patchy light rain or drizzle developing, mainly for Atlantic counties. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, coolest for Atlantic coastal areas, in light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresher for a time in the west and northwest.

A cloudy and humid night overnight on Saturday with just a few spots of light rain or drizzle. Temperatures not falling below 11 to 15 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes.

Sunday is expected rather cloudy to begin the day with a few spots of light rain or drizzle. Sunny spells will gradually develop along with some scattered. Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees in a mostly light southwesterly breeze.

Monday will be another owarm day with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, especially in the south and east. A few showers will likely develop. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees generally in light breezes.

Further Outlook: Mostly dry for midweek with spells of sunshine and light winds. Warm or very warm with highest temperatures reaching the low to mid-twenties widely.
