The death has occurred peacefully of Thomas Caldwell, Billis, New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan on 17th June 2024 at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Rose.

Deeply regretted by his loving children, Siobhan, Rosemarie, Sinéad, Matty, Thomas and Philip. He will be sadly missed by his family, grandchildren Barney,Darren, Gerry, Karen, Shannon, Natashia, Lynette, Tony, Shane, Gemma, Jake, Jessie and Michael, great grandchildren,his brother in law Michael, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Remains Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan on Tuesday from 5 o' clock until prayers at 8 o'clock.

Removal on Thursday afternoon arriving at St. Mary's Church, Clanaphillip for 2 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Oldcastle Road, Ballyjamesduff.

Danny Fay

Drumavrack, Redhills, Cavan, H14 XA47

Danny Fay, Drumavrack, Redhills, Co. Cavan. 17th June 2024. Suddenly at his residence.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, daughter Catherine, son-in-law Eoin, grandchildren Ava and Luke, sister Breda, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives ,neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Remains Reposing at his residence (Eircode H14 XA47) , on Thursday evening from 5.00pm till 7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning in St. Bridget’s Church, Killoughter, Redhills (Eircode H14V104) at 11.00am. Burial immediately afterwards in Scotshouse cemetery.

House Private at all other times except to neighbours and friends.

Ned Nelson

Corraghoe, Stradone, Cavan

Ned Nelson, Corraghoe, Stradone, Co. Cavan, Tuesday, June 18th, at his home. Predeceased by his parents Larry and Susan, his brother Michael, sisters Kathleen and Susan. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Paddy, Oliver and Jimmy, his sisters Anne and Maureen, sisters-in-law brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

23 October 1928 – 17 June 2024

Mary Jo O’Flaherty (nee Farrrelly) late of Cormeen, Virginia, Co. Cavan, passed away peacefully in the loving and tender care of the staff at Oak View Nursing Home, Belturbet, Co Cavan, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Morgan. Mary Jo will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her children Dermot (Ann), Catherine (Declan), Paddy (Siobhan), Morgan (Cathrina) and Mairead (Jerome), her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, her sister Kay, her nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Matthews’ Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Co Cavan (A82YV58) on Wednesday, June 19th from 5pm until prayers at 8pm. Removal to St. Mary’s Church, Castlerahan, Co Cavan (A82YN44) on Thursday the 20th of June arriving for 11am funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Olive BLACK

Churchtown, Dublin / Cavan Town, Cavan

Olive Black, (Churchtown, Dublin 14 and formerly of Church Street, Cavan and late of Wiggins Teape) Saturday, 15th June (peacefully) in the loving and tender care of the magnificent staff at Greystones Nursing Home, Greystones Co. Wicklow. Predeceased by her sisters Ina and Dorothy, and brothers, Richard and Ivan. Olive will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Burial will take place on Wednesday, the 19th of June, at 12 noon in The New Cemetery, Dublin Road, Cavan.

St. Killian's Park, Rosehill, Mullagh, Cavan / Meath

The death has occurred of Brendan Carroll, St. Killian's Park, Rosehill, Mullagh, Co Cavan, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on 16th June 2024

Predeceased by his parents Patrick & Bridget, brothers Paddy, Micheal and Peter, sisters Bridie and Peg.

Sadly Missed by beloved brother Tony and sister Sally, nieces Anne Taylor (Nee Carroll). nephew John Carroll and nieces & nephews in England.

Brendan will repose at his home at St. Killian's Park, Rosehill, Mullagh, (A82 W213) on Tuesday, 18th of June, from 4 to 8pm.

Removal from his home Wednesday 19th of June, for Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Killians, Church, Mullagh, Co. Cavan, (A82 X054),

Burial afterward in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will be forever grateful to all the staff of Cavan General Hospital & Palliative Care team for the exceptional care they showed to Brendan and family during his time there.

Entered eternal life 16 June 2024.

The death has occurred of Joan Ward (nee Maher) at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on the 16th day of June. Predeceased by her daughter Sandra and her mother in law Mary. Much loved wife of Martin and much loved mother of Martin (Liz), Sharon (Ray), Ken (Jenny) and Darren (Joanne). Sadly missed by her loving husband, sons and daughter, her cherished grandchildren - Martin Jnr., Emma, Ciara, Niamh, Lauren, Adam, Zara, Ava, Noah and her great-grandchildren - Tadhg, Teddy and Oscar, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Monday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in Room 2. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at Matthews Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 10.30 o'clock with removal to Glasnevin Cemetery for 1 o'clock burial.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Kidney Dialysis Unit, Patient Comfort Fund c/o Matthews Funeral Directors or any family member.

The death has occured of Denis 'Dinny' Brennan, 4 Crannóg, Glen Road, Monaghan and formerly Glaslough. Sunday, 16th June. Peacefully surrounded by his family in the excellent care of the nursing staff of Monaghan General Hospital.

Pre-deceased by his infant children Denis and Paula. Dinny will be sadly missed and remembered by his wife Mary P. and his children Coletta (Eamonn), Gerard (Edel), Liam, Charlene (Peadar) and Bernadette. Proud Grandfather to twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Fondly remembered by his brothers and sister and wider Brennan and McNeely families.

Dinny's remains will repose at his home on Monday (17th) from 4pm - 9pm and Tuesday from 4pm - 9pm. Family time at all other times please. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am at St.Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan. Burial afterwards at St.Mary's New Cemetery, Glennan. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care, c/o Peter McMahon, McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale or any family member.
