Virginia chef short-listed for AA

Chef Richard Corrigan, owner of Virginia's Park Lodge and its accompanying Deerpark Inn pub and restaurant, has been short-listed for the prestigious title of AA Chefs’ Chef of the Year.

The Ballivor native received the nod for his famous Corrigan’s of Mayfair restaurant, which is supplied by produce grown and reared on the local Park Lodge estate.

First introduced in 1996, the coveted award was won last year by the Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth.

Voted for by their peers, the award gives all AA Rosette recognised chefs an opportunity to decide who deserves the prize for their outstanding performance over the past year.

The short-list also includes other culinary luminaries such as Angela Hartnett of Murano, Lorna McNee at Cail Bruich, Tom Kitchin at The Kitchin, and Tom Aikens of Muse.

The award ceremony takes place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London in September.
