Errigal House Hotel celebrates 20 years
The Errigal Country House Hotel celebrated 20 years in Cootehill earlier this month, on Sunday, June 2.
The official birthday of the hotel was on Sunday, May 12th. Hotel owners the Kelly family hosted a family fun day and live music evening to celebrate with the local community, many of whom have had various occasions celebrated there throughout the years.
The family day drew crowds in from all over the community with a BBQ, face painting, a bouncy castle and lots of entertainment for both adults and kids alike.
It was held alongside a fundraiser for The Holy Family School in Cootehill, in that those at the event made a donation. In total €1,000 was raised, which will be presented with a cheque to the school principal.
“It was very much community,” said Jennifer Ryan, who is over the hotel’s marketing.
“It was to invite all of our customers, past and present, back in to thank them for their custom over the past 20 years.
“A lot of the local community would have had their weddings there, christenings, communions, confirmations & anniversaries,” she said.
While sitting outdoors in the Errigal hotel’s brand new outdoor seating area on a beautiful summer's evening, as the BBQ smoke died down and the sun set over the fine hotel, the community chatter slowly began to calm as day moved to evening. The gathering was entertained by Alan Goff, Mr Brightside who played live into the evening.
“It was packed,” Jennifer said, mentioning that over five hundred people came throughout the day.
The day, marked with community spirit, was a reminiscence of good times past and a prediction of what lies in store for the future. Jennifer outlined what is to come for the Errigal hotel.
“There’s events kicking off from September, there’s a full schedule of tribute bands,” she enthused, with tribute acts for pop singers Beyoncé and Rihanna, rock band Fleetwood Mac and Welsh singer Tom Jones, among others set to hit the stage live.
The hotel boasts 42-bedrooms with stunning honeymoon suites; deluxe rooms, some with jacuzzis; double and twin rooms and also self-catering lodges - giving a true hidden-heartlands country experience to all guests.
Whether staying or not, pop in for afternoon tea, lunch or a drink in The Brewery Bar or Reynards Restaurant. Guests will soon be able to dine al fresco with a new outdoor dining space currently underway.
“Hopefully we get the summer for it,” laughed Jennifer.
The hotel launched a brand new website this April, showcasing their luxurious rooms, delightful dining experiences, vast function rooms and abundant entertainment in the coming months. All of this in the environs of Ireland’s hidden heartlands in the vibrant and beautiful community of Cootehill. The family-run hotel has a bright future ahead and they invite guests to enjoy this alongside them.
Niall Kelly said he, along with the entire Kelly family, "would like to thank all who attended the celebrations over the birthday weekend".
He also thanked them for their support over the past 20 years.
"We very much appreciate it and we look forward to welcoming you back through our doors,” he said.
