Gowna flies the flag for Cruinniú
Cruinniú na nÓg Event
The children of Gowna will bring amazing colour and beautiful designs to this year’s Cruinniu na nÓg fdestivities. Through a series of workshops organised by Jess Nolan and Trish Hannick the children in St Patrick’s National School have created flags and bunting which will be displayed on the day.
The local Tidy Towns group has also sponsored a literary competition for three different age categories - see Gowna Tidy Towns wesbsite to see the entries - and the winners will also be announced on the day.
“On the day itself we are going to have lots of different painting and art workshops and have some music playing. We’re just getting the commnuity together to have some fun on the day,” says Jess.
The fun takes place in St Brigid’s Community Centre in Gowna on Saturday, June 15 from 1.30-5:30pm.
Tap into your child’s creative side with one - or more - of the free events organised for this year’s Criunniu na nÓg. The events are being held across the county and while June 15 is the culmination, there’s fun workshop events in the run-up to the big day. This is just one highlight, see cruinniu.creativeireland.gov.ie for the full programme.
