Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross to hit the market
The hotel will go on sale next week.
The Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross is to go on sale next week. The landmark hotel and leisure centre closed in 2023 after it was reported the owner had run into financial difficulty.
Minister for Rural Development Heather Humphreys indicated today that work has been going on behind-the-scenes in conjunction with the liquidator who was appointed in March 2023. Locally, there is “strong interest” in the hotel and the Minister said she is “delighted” the north-east will have its hotel restored to its former glory:
"I do look forward to a new purchaser coming on board and investing in it and returning it to its former glory," she said. "I'm very positive after the conversation I've had with the liquidator because there's a number of people from the sector interested in purchasing it. I will continue to do everything I can to make sure that it is returned to a hotel in the northeast region because it's very much an iconic hotel and very much needed."
