“We’re hosting a fun and engaging workshop where children and young people can come and learn a little bit about ogham stones,” says Holly Roche, curator of Cavan County Museum. "They are the earliest form of writing we have in Ireland.

“We have Clayotics and children can make their own ogham stone with a wee message or maybe their name on it and take that away as a keepsake from the day.

“They could make a message that only they know what it means or a message for a loved one!”

This event in Cavan County Museum, in Ballyjamesduff is suitable for children aged 5-12. To book a place contact 049 8544070 or email info@cavanmuseum.ie
