Apartment plans resubmitted for Cavan Town project

Plans to build a five-storey apartment development in Cavan Town have been resubmitted to council planners.

Radar Investments Limited’s last application, in respect of a proposed 67-unit block at Friars Walk, Farnham Road, was invalidated on March 7.

Now Radar, which is registered as a company, ‘C/O Philip King’ in Killeshandra, has submitted plans for a 66-unit apartment block, comprising 26 one-bed apartments, 32 two-beds, and eight three-bed units, all with balconies or ground floor terraces.

Particulars of the development comprise a new access point to the lands from Farnham Road, along with the construction of a bridge to facilitate vehicular and pedestrian as well as internal access to the lands.

A communal and public open space will include a formal play area, and there will also be associated bin and bicycle storage facilities.

Other inclusions are for an ESB substation, foul pumping station with associated infrastructure, and 49 car parking spaces at surface level within a courtyard and accessed via an under-croft at the rear of the building.

There will be electric vehicle charge points too.

A decision on the new application is due on or before July 16.
