Additional €916K allocated to Co Cavan's road network
Funding announced today by Minister Heather Humphreys.
An additional €916,500 for roadworks in Co Cavan has been allocated by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys today.
The funding is part of a €30M investment nationwide and comes on top of over €2M for roads in Cavan and Monaghan that was announced last month by the Minister under the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS).
The Minister said the investment was welcome and added there were a number of projects locally on which the money would be spent. “Investing in our road network is critically important, particularly in rural Ireland,” she continued.
“In my own Department of Rural and Community Development, I have placed a huge emphasis on rolling out the LIS which delivers repairs and improvements to non-public roads and laneways. Local connectivity is absolutely vital for our rural communities and this latest funding today will benefit many parts of the county.”
