Sun to withdraw this afternoon making way for thunder and showers

Showers are expected this afternoon following a mainly cloudy and dry morning with occasional bright spells. The showers will become heavy in places with thunderstorms and hail possible. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light northerly or variable winds.

Tonight will see heavy showers and thunderstorms continue for a time but they will die out and it will become mainly dry. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in light north-westerly winds.

Tomorrow, Wednesday will be a dull and cloudy day. Most places will be dry apart from well scattered showers. Patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop in the east of the province through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh north west winds.
