Sunny spells today with scattered showers developing, becoming most frequent in western areas, turning heavy at times there with the chance of thunderstorms developing later in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with light east to northeast or variable breezes.
Becoming dry with long clear spells for most with just isolated showers for tonight. Fog will form overnight, particularly over the central swathe of the country. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 11 degrees in light northeasterly or variable breezes.
Fog will clear through the morning to leave another day of sunny spells and scattered showers, heavy at times with a further chance of thunderstorms developing. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees in mostly light northeasterly breezes, more moderate though near Atlantic coastal areas.
Becoming dry for many overnight on Thursday with clear spells as showers become isolated though mist and fog patches will develop. However, cloudier conditions will move from the east with showery outbreaks of rain following. Temperatures not falling below 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly winds, fresher towards morning in the west and southwest.
A mostly cloudy start to Friday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Some sunny spells will develop through the day along with some showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees generally with moderate to fresh northerly winds, cooler though for Atlantic areas with the strongest winds.
Mostly cloudy overnight on Friday with further outbreaks of rain or showers. Temperatures not falling below 9 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh northerly winds.
After a mostly cloudy start to Saturday with some patchy rain and drizzle, a clearance to mostly dry conditions with spells of sunshine will follow from the north. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees generally, cooler for northwestern and northern areas, in mostly moderate northerly winds.
Sunday will be dry for many with a mix of cloud and sunny spells though some showers will occur. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light northerly or variable breezes.
Further Outlook: Current indications suggest that there will be further showers or longer spells of rain for early next week.
