PSNI investigate suspicious approach

Details of dark-blue Vauxhall Zafira with ROI plates sought.

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating a report of an alleged suspicious approach to a child in a village close to the Cavan-Fermanagh border.

The incident happened in the Kinawley area on Monday, April 22.

It was later reported that a teenage boy was approached by two men at around 9.15am on the Drumroosk Road, who attempted to make him get into their vehicle.

The boy was not injured, however has been left upset by the experience.

The movements and whereabouts of a dark-blue seven-seater Vauxhall Zafira with southern registered number plates, believed to have been seen in the area around that time, are being sought.

The incident was highlighted on social media, and shared widely.

Detective Sergeant Curley said: “We understand the concern this will raise and we want to reassure the local community that we take all reports of this nature extremely seriously.

“As we continue with our enquiries, we appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed a dark-blue Vauxhall Zafira with ROI registration plates to contact us. We would particularly ask that anyone with dashcam check their footage."
