Four arrested in connection with phone shop burglary

Gardaí have arrested four people in connection with a burglary at a phone shop in Cavan Town almost a fortnight ago.

Thousands of euro in expensive high-tech stock was taken during the break-in, which occurred at a premises on the town’s main street on March 14 last. On foot of an investigation, and based on intelligence obtained, gardaí swooped on a property and arrested four suspects in the early hours of Tuesday, March 26. At the time of going to print on Tuesday afternoon the persons were still being questioned by gardaí at stations located across the greater Louth/ Cavan/Monaghan division.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: “Gardaí are investigating a burglary that occurred at a retail premises on the 14th March 2024 at approximately 4am. A number of items were taken.”

The spokesperson added: “Investigations are ongoing.”
