Emerald Park unveils first glimpse of Tír Na nÓg rollercoasters
Emerald Park has given its first glimpse of its Tír Na nÓg development, featuring two new state-of-the-art rollercoasters.
The addition of the rollercoaster trains signifies a milestone in the park's journey towards delivering its first fully themed and immersive land at the theme park and zoo.
Today, General Manager of Emerald Park, Charles Coyle confirmed that Tír Na nÓg will open its gates to adventure seekers and families this May, with an official opening date to be revealed next month.
Representing a substantial investment of €22 million, the land extends to 6.5acres.
Along with the two main rollercoasters, Tír na nÓg will also introduce a third classic theme park attraction, known as a Waveswinger.
New food outlets, retail spaces, and an entrance that will create real excitement and wonder, will also all lend to the Irish mythology and fantasy theming across the land.
"Today marks a monumental leap in Emerald Park's journey as we unveil the trains on our two new rollercoasters at Tír na nÓg. This milestone not only signifies our dedication to creating fully themed and immersive experiences but also represents the culmination of years of hard work and innovation. As we continue to push the boundaries of imagination, we’re looking forward to seeing our guests embark on an unforgettable adventure this year,” said Charles Coyne.
Emerald Park re-opens on Saturday, 23rd March for its 2024 season where guests can enjoy ‘Dino Roar’, an interactive dinosaur meet and greet event.
Running from Saturday, 23rd March to Friday 29th March, families are invited to embark on an exciting journey back to Jurassic times, with a range of dino-themed activities to entertain visitors of all ages.
Younger adventurers can also enjoy the ‘Junior Zone’ with Crazy Bus, Balloon Chase, and the Ladybird Loop amongst the attractions.
Older kids and adults looking for their next adrenaline rush can immerse themselves in a host of exhilarating activities too. Ride the Cú Chúlainn Coaster, or take a splash on Ireland’s only flume attraction, Viking Voyage.
Home to more than 250 animals, visitors can also see diverse animals from Amur Tigers, Amur Leopards, Ring-Tailed Lemurs, to a fascinating array of birds of prey at the Emerald Park Zoo.
