A new plan to revitalise Bailieborough was unveiled today.
The east Cavan town is amongst 26 locations to benefit from the Town Centre First Plans, as announced today by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
As part of the launch, the Town Centre First Plan for Bailieborough has been published. Bailieborough will have a Town Regeneration Officer in place to manage the implementation of the plan locally and to work with the Town Team made up of community representatives.
Welcoming the publication of the plan, Deputy Niamh Smyth said: “I am absolutely delighted that the Town Centre First Plan for Bailieborough has been published today. The plan has been developed through extensive consultation with the local community, focusing on the vision of local people for the town. It contains ambitious proposals to revitalise and renew Bailieborough and to make it a better place to work, live and invest in.
"There are a diverse range of actions included under the plan and I am looking forward to working with all stakeholders on its implementation.”
