A young Cavan singer needs your support in her hopes to reach the final of a new talent competition.

Orna McCarron (17) has entered The Ivory Sessions Talent Show 2024, and stands a chance of making the last 10 contestants at a live final set to take place at Navan's Newgrange Hotel on April 7.

She is one of 50 contestants to currently battling out for attention.

Each of the entrants had a performance filmed at The Ivory Sessions Studio in Crookedwood, and each view either on Facebook or Instagram counts as a vote for the person.

All of the videos went live last Monday, and the cut off point is noon on Monday next, February 26.

Orna is currently in the top 10, but voting is continuing with contestants combining to earn more than one million views online.

Speaking to the Celt, Orna's mum Dympna thanked the community for their support to date, but says "one final push" is needed now to help Orna realise her dream of making the final.

"She was born singing," says Dympna of Orna. "Its all she wants to do. We're do proud of her, and it would be amazing if she can make it to the final now. Every vote counts."
