Over €16.7 million in funding has just been announced for roads, cycleways and greenways in Cavan

Minister for Rural and Community Development, local TD Heather Humphreys, has welcomed the allocations and planned investments.

The funding will see the delivery of a range of vital infrastructure projects in the county.

One of the biggest beneficiaries is a project on the N55 Corduff to South of Killydoon, which has been awarded over €9M.

Among the projects being funded in Cavan include:

• N54 Butlers Bridge to Border Phase 2 Pavement Scheme: €2,750,000

• N3 Cavan Crystal Hotel-Kilmore Roundabout Safety Scheme: €400,000

• N3 Virginia-Maghera Safety Scheme: €400,000

• N55 Ballinagh Relief Road: €100,000

Minister Humphreys said: “From roads and safety works to pathways and greenways – these projects really will make a big difference to communities.

“Investing in our roads is vital, particularly in our region, where progress is continuing in terms of bettering our public transport links.

“Now that this investment is in place, I look forward to see these projects being completed so that our towns and villages can reap the benefits.”
