Work underway to restore Kingscourt water supply
Boil water notice on Gowlan Group Water Scheme.
Work is underway to restore normal water supply to customers supplied by Kingscourt Water Treatment Plant.
This week's storms caused a power outage which impacted pumps at the Uisce Éireann water treatment plant.
It has also led to issues for the Gowlan Group Water Scheme where a boil water notice is in place until further notice.
Water supply is expected to be restored on Wednesday, January 24, but water connot be treated and must be boiled for human consumption.
Dedicated water services crews have been mobilised to work to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.
Uisce Éireann are also liaising closely with the ESB to prioritise the restoration of full power supply to the pumps at the water treatment plant.
Peter Gallagher, Water Operations Lead, said: “We thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible. We are appealing to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible.”
Further information on water conservation is available on our website at www.water/conserve.
Mr Gallagher added: “We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to return normal water supply.”
