Status Yellow weather warning for Cavan and Monaghan

A low temperature/ice warning will come into effect this evening for much of the country, including Cavan and Monaghan.
Met Éireann warn that it will be very cold overnight and early Monday morning with the danger of icy patches. Some freezing fog patches locally also.
They caution that it could cause difficult travelling conditions and animal welfare issues.
The Status Yellow warning will come into effect for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Galway, Roscommon from 7pm this evening, Sunday, January 14 and remain in place until 11am on Monday, January 15.

Frost and ice will be slow to clear this morning with some mist and fog patches lingering also. It will be a dry day for most with sunny spells, though well scattered showers will spread from the north. Some of these showers may turn to sleet or snow on hills later this evening. Cold with highest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees in a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Tonight will be very cold with widespread frost and icy patches. There will be a mix of clear spells and well scattered showers, and some of these showers will fall as sleet or snow. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +1 degrees in a light northerly breeze.
Tomorrow
A very cold day with frost and ice slow to clear tomorrow, lingering in some sheltered spots through the day. Most places will be dry with sunny spells but there will be isolated showers, some turning to sleet or snow. Highest temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees in a light northwest breeze.
