Onóir bound to delight at Townhall
Townhall Arts Centre, Cavan hosts the hottest ticket on the Irish folk scene, Onóir, on Friday, January 26 at 8pm.
Contemporary Irish folk group Onóir formed in 2020, when Donegal musicians; Tom McHugh, Declan Gaughan, Deane Connaghan, and Diarmaid McGee, joined forces to create a contemporary version of the famous Irish folk ballad; 'The Auld Triangle', the video went viral and has been seen by over three million people worldwide to date.
They followed up this incredible success with their own interpretation of ‘The Parting Glass’, which once again captured the imagination of audiences across the nation and worldwide.
Buoyed by the spectacular success of their videos, these talented musicians with distinctive vocal styles took to the road, setting new standards in live Irish contemporary folk with incredible musical arrangements and harmonies that mark them out as unique.
Onóir are selling out venues in record time as their impassioned audiences are taken on a musical odyssey. From their new take on traditional Irish ballads all the way through to up tempo modern Irish classics. From tears to laughter, enjoy the onstage chemistry, excitement, and banter in a show not to be missed.
The band has recently completed recording of their debut album, set for release in early 2024, and their visit to Town Hall Cavan is an opportunity to hear these rising stars in an intimate setting.
