Kojaque shortlisted for best Irish song
Voting closes midnight Sunday, February 25.
A Dublin-based hip hop artist with Cavan links has been shortlist for this year's RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year 2023.
Held in association with IMRO & IRMA and announced today on RTÉ 2FM’s Tracy Clifford Show, Kojaque's track 'Woof' from his 2023 self-released Phantom Of The Afters was chosen.
The song features fellow Cork-native Jessica Smyth, known by the stage name Biig Piig.
Phantom Of The Afters is the third album by Irish rapper Kojaque, who has familial links to Crosskeys.
The album was released on his very own Soft Boy Records.
For Best Song he's up against Chubby Cat, CMAT, Cian Ducrot, John Francis Flynn, Niall Horan, Hozier, Jazzy, Lankum, and Soda Blonde.

Votes are limited to one per person per day.
Only votes cast in the Republic of Ireland will be counted.
Voting closes midnight Sunday, February 25.
The winning song will be announced by Tracy Clifford on March 7 on a special Song of the Year radio show on 2FM that afternoon ahead of the live event.
A special RTÉ Choice Music Prize highlights programme will be broadcast on RTÉ2 television the following week.
Earlier this week the shortlists for further prizes were announced including for Irish Artist of the Year 2023, Irish Breakthrough Artist 2023, and Classic Irish Album.
