Five men arrested in connection to cocaine seized on Limerick cargo ship

Five men have been arrested on Friday morning in connection to a cocaine seizure on a cargo vessel in Limerick.
On Tuesday, approximately 300kg of cocaine worth €21 million was seized was seized frop the ship.
Revenue officers boarded and searched the registered bulk cargo vessel, which had arrived in the port of Foynes from Canada.
A search of the vessel remains ongoing.
The five men, with ages from 35 to 50, were arrested for the offence of importation of controlled drugs contrary to Section 15(b) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84 as amended by Section 82 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006.
Gardaí said they are all detained at Garda stations in the Limerick Division and investigations are ongoing.
