Skelly Oil Services Ltd was founded in 1997 by three members of the family. The first lorry was purchased and deliveries commenced during the autumn of that year.

Since then the company has grown and gone from strength to strength with four delivery lorries now on the road. In 2007, the first forecourt and shop was established in Ballyjamesduff and, in 2013, the new shop in Virginia opened its doors.

Peter, Judy & Peter Jnr are no strangers to hard work and have built three very successful businesses over the years. They strive for the best in everything they do and treat their staff and customers like part of the extended family.

Meanwhile, Paul, John, Eugene and John are part of the company’s professional delivery team. They have been on the road delivering for over 20 years and their knowledge and expertise means everyone is guaranteed the best service the company can provide.

Olivia and Sharon are the friendly voices behind the scenes keeping the show on the road and together they provide a professional, flexible approach to fuel deliveries and payment.

Judy Skelly says the company is honoured to be nominated for a business award. “We started up our oil company at the house 27 years ago; then we bought a bog and built our own filling station on that,” she continued. “We then bought the hotel in Virginia; we have 19 ensuite rooms and our own bakery. We have a great team and help out people around us who are struggling. We are there for everyone as a family-run business.”

Skelly Oil also caters its services to the needs of customers and includes personal, local and customer-focused attention. “We provide immediate personal contact during our office hours and now with our online order service there are more ways than ever to order your oil at a time that suits you,” Judy continued.

“We aim to provide all our customers with the ultimate in customer service. This is why you can expect a courteous, friendly and professional approach. As well as that, we guarantee you a prompt and efficient delivery service.”

Skelly’s employs around 60 people - a major contributor to the local economy. The firm is committed to the long-term development and well-being of the local community with its award-winning shops and deli.
