Playing to win at Kore Retrofit
Best in Innovation and Resilience
KORE Retrofit is a family-run business based in Kilnaleck. It is run by founding and managing director Noel Brady and his wife Caroline Ashe Brady, who is the commercial director for the business.
Since 2014, it has been upgrading buildings in Ireland by working on various grant schemes with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). It works on two large scale grant schemes - the fully funded grant scheme applicable to people in fuel poverty; and the one stop shop scheme, a multiple measure scheme, partially grant funded.
The company is dedicated to its customers and their needs, and project manages every home with a superior service that includes design plans, contractors, measures, grant administration, and post works support.
Over 500 homes are completed each year and this is on the increase.
Caroline says the business has grown “significantly” over the last few years and this is down to a combination of “brave and incremental moves” on the part of those working in Kore Retrofit.
“We make mistakes, learn from them, make changes and we go again,” she explained.
“This is the secret to Kore Retrofit innovation – we are playing to win. We have built a business around the delivery of domestic retrofit. We wanted to maximise operations so we introduced project management software.
“We explored the different operational tools changing how we used the software to maximise output. We have reduced our communication touchpoint with our 100 different sites throughout the country by 70%.
“We are involved in a pan-European retro-fit project and are currently developing off-site modular wall panels for external walls in retrofit projects, which we manufacture here in Ireland at our sister company, Kore Insulation and install by Core Retrofit throughout the country.”
Meanwhile, the company works with national experts in the field and is the only SEAI recognised ‘one-stop-shop’ provider for the county assisting homeowners with grants. The team work closely with the local authority and homeowners, enabling them to receive funding of up to €103,600.
“We go above and beyond to ensure our customers get the best service available including maximum grant funding,” Caroline said.
“We always keep pivoting and innovating, looking at new ways to improve our offering, and providing valuable solutions to our customers pain points.
“It’s important to listen to your customers; to the market; and to pay attention to new technologies and solutions that will help us deliver a superior service for the homeowners, contractors, and SEAI,” she concluded.
