Over 100 business women to celebrate National Women’s Enterprise Day
National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED) takes place nationwide next Thursday, October 19, with the theme ‘Empowering Business Together’.
The Cavan event will be hosted by Local Enterprise Office Cavan, with Cavan Women in Business Network. It booked out in just two weeks with 100 women from the county wanting to celebrate the day together at this breakfast meeting starting at 8:30am in the Hotel Kilmore.
An impressive line-up of seven speakers will address the business women. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys will officially launch the event; while Conor Craven, acting head, Local Enterprise Office Cavan, will address the group.
A panel of five powerful business women will discuss the theme ‘Empowering Business Together’ and give tips on developing and growing a business, based on their own experiences. They include: Caroline Ashe Brady, of Kilnaleck based KORE Group, who was chosen as the Cavan Ambassador for National Women’s Enterprise Day 2023; Ciara Shine-Carlier of Donegal based, Shines Seafoods; Therese Malanaphy, M-Tec Engineering, Swanlinbar, and Cavan business women Nikki McGoohan, Propel2Gether and Caroline Thompson, Riverside Spa Limited.
Geraldine Johnston, Boyne Communications, will facilitate the Panel Discussion and Margaret McKeon-Boyle, Extensive PR, will act as Master of Ceremonies, as well as coordinating the event.
Ahead of the event, Mr Craven said: “Local Enterprise Offices, along with Enterprise Ireland, provide a wide range of help, incentives, training, and development programmes to female entrepreneurs.
“While help is available all year round, National Women’s Enterprise Day allows us to turn the spotlight on female entrepreneurship and highlight what supports are available. It also provides valuable networking opportunities and celebrates the achievements of women in enterprise.”
