Leona ties for 13th at The Ascendant LPGA

South Korea's Hyo Joo Kim tops leaderboard.

Leona Maguire entered the clubhouse at the end of a difficult third day of golf at The Ascendant at Dallas' Old American Golf Club tied for 13th and a final score of two under.

In her first outing since Team Europe's incredible Solheim Cup victory, the Cavan golfer began the day just five shots off the top of the leaderboard behind South Korea's Hyo Joo Kim.

However, Kim would prove unstoppable as she continued to search for her first win on the LPGA tour since April 2022, -11, ahead of next nearest rivals, USA's Lexi Thompson and Australia's Sarah Kemp tied for second at -6.

Ballyconnell native had hoped she might carry some of that great form that saw her play so valiantly in Spain as part of Team Europe, and early signed looked good, but Leona's game sadly trailed off at the end of day three.
