Bridie Smyth (nee Sheridan) Dalveen House, Lavagh, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan and formerly of Newtown, Carlanstown, Kells, Co. Meath (former Staff Nurse at The Mater Hospital, Dublin) Sunday, October 1st (peacefully) at home surrounded by her family. Sister of the late John Sheridan (Carlanstown) and Betty Duff (Kells). Bridie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Donal, her family; Joe, Maura (Michael), Dan (Mary), Tom (Emer) and Kaye (Alberto), sisters Mary Marry and Margaret Brennan, grandchildren; Laura, Liam, Matthew, Claire, Julie and Valerio, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours, who Bridie always appreciated.

Reposing at her home (A82 RK61). Reposing on Monday evening at Briody's Funeral Home Kilnaleck (A82 DX59) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal from her home on Tuesday to St. Mary's Church Ballinarry arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Palliative Care, Cavan c/o Briody's Funeral Home or any family member.

Patsy Lynch

Carrickavoley, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Patsy Lynch on the 30th of September 2023 of Carrickavoley, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his cherished daughter Teresa, parents Edward and Katie, sisters Phylis, Teresa, Kathleen and his brother Seamus. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Anne, children Sharon, (Liam), Angela, Sean, (Geraldine), Aidan, (Lorraine), Gary, (Shelley), his much loved grandchildren; Sam, (Emma), Richard, Emily, Emer, (Eric), Sean Óg, Fíonn, Paidí, Donnacha, Cathal, Bonnie, Theo and Maisie; his great-grandchildren Maddie, Zach, Jesse and Milo, his sisters; Mary, Margaret, Brigid and brothers Eamon and Michael, brother in-law and sisters in-law and large circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his residence in Carrickavoley (A81 FC64) from 6pm till 9pm Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd from 2pm till 9pm. Removal Tuesday 3rd of October to the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen and arriving for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Inniskeen.

The death has occurred of Eamon McGeough. Lurganboys, Culloville, Castleblayney. 30th September 2023. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by his parents Ned & Katie, his brother Kevin and recently his daughter-in-law Carmel.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family, his wife Mary, his sons Eamon (Dympna) & Fintan and his daughters Carmel (James), Kathleen (David) & Eileen (Sean), his much-loved grandchildren; Lorcan, Liam, Anna, Brian, John, Eamon, James, Mary, Grace, Seán Óg & Lucy, his brothers Peter & Desmond (New York) & Cornelius (UK) and his sisters Angela (New York) & Evelyn (Carrickmacross), his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Eamon will repose at his daughter & son-in-law, Eileen & Sean's home, Lurganboys, A75 DC62, on Sunday 1st October from 6pm until 9pm and on Monday, 2nd October from 2pm until 9pm.

Eamon's funeral cortège will leave Eileen & Sean's home on Tuesday, 3rd October, proceeding to St. Lastra's Church, Donaghmoyne, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Noel Shields

San Antone, Bree, Castleblayney, Monaghan, A75 Y208

The death has occurred of Noel Shields, formerly of San Antone, Bree, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Saturday, 30th September 2023, peacefully, in the tender care of the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney.

Predeceased by his parents Michael & Phyllis.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by his son Jamie, sisters Marie, Olivia, Bernie and Carole, cherished nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours, many friends and comrades from the sporting field.

Reposing at his sister Marie Rafter’s home in Bree from 6pm to 9pm on Sunday and from 4pm to 9pm on Monday with removal, on foot, on Tuesday morning at 10:15am, arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterward in the adjoining cemetery where Noel will be laid to rest alongside his beloved parents.
