Formerly of Druminisclin, Crosserlough, Co. Cavan and Sceilp, Westport, Co. Mayo.

On September 27th 2023, Nora passed away peacefully, after a short illness in the loving care of her family at Togher, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan with her much loved family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband Gerald, her parents James and Mary Flanagan, her brothers Austin, John and James and her sisters Winnie and Philomena.

Beloved mother of Carmel (Tom Smith), Gerald (Christine) and Rita (Michael Olwill), adoring grandmother to Caoimhe, Cormac (Sarah Cusack Smith), Michael, Aileen, Andrew, Róisín, Donnchadh, Muireann, Áine, Gerry, Maeve, Sarah, Gerald and Joseph and great-grandchild Amelia.

Mourned and sadly missed by all.

Reposing at the home of Tom and Carmel Cusack Smith, in Togher, A82KW29 from 2pm on Thursday until Friday at 4.30pm followed by removal at 6pm (via Druminisclin) to St. Joseph’s Church, Drumkilly, arriving at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Nora on Saturday, September 30th, at 11am. Burial afterwards in local cemetery.

Sincere thanks to her wonderful carers and the Ballyjamesduff Public Health nurses for assisting the family in carrying out Nora’s wishes to be cared for at home. Thank you also to Stephen and Catriona from the palliative care team who ensured she was comfortable at all times.

The death has occurred of Peter ‘Paddy’ McCaul of Peterborough UK and formerly of 10 Bridge Street, Cavan.

Suddenly at his sister Orla Donnelly’s residence at the Woodlands Ballina, Co. Mayo.

Paddy predeceased by his father Vincent, mother Ena and his brother Barry.

Beloved father of Declan and Conor. Sadly missed by his loving sons, brother Declan, sister Orla, brother-in-law David, nieces Sarah and Rebecca, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Paddy rest in peace.

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (F26V274) on Friday morning, 29th September, from 10:00am with removal at 11:30am to Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium (H12 RF78) where Paddy will repose on Friday evening from 5pm to 7pm followed by cremation.

Bernadette Lynam

66 Killyconnigan, Monaghan Town, Monaghan / Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim

The death has occurred of Bernadette (Detta) Lynam, née Kiernan, 66 Killyconnigan, Monaghan and formerly of Carrick-on-Shannon, 27th September peacefully at her home in the loving care of her devoted husband Michael. Predeceased by her sisters Joan, Constance, & her brother JC (John Cecil). Detta will be foreverly missed and remembered by her husband Michael, her sister in law Nella Brett (Kilkenny), brothers in law Donal (Australia) and Andy (Kilkenny), nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Detta will repose at Clerkins Funeral Home (H18YF22), Monaghan on Friday the 29th Sept from 5pm with closing prayers at 8pm. Detta's funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday the 30th at 11am in St Macaratans Cathedral. with burial afterwards in Latlurcan cemetery.
