It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Peter John Canavan

Lywttleton, Stechford, Birmingham, England and, Cavan

Peter John Canavan died suddenly but peacefully in Birmingham on 23rd August 2023.

Predeceased by his parents Christina (nee Coyle) and Paul, daughter Rachel, sisters Kathleen, Mary and brother Noel.

Sadly missed by his sons Anthony and Sean, sisters Christina (Cynthia) and Pauline, brothers James and his twin Paul, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, the extended O'Reilly, Dawson and Smyth families in Ireland and England, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Removal from Reilly's Funeral Home Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Wednesday, 27th September 2023 arriving Our Lady of Lourdes Church Mullahoran (N39HN84) for Funeral Mass at 2 o'clock. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Tom (TJ) Cartwright, Chapel Pass, Blackrock, Co Louth and formerly of Clones, Co Monaghan, peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, 23rd September 2023. Tom beloved husband of Angela nee Duffy, loving dad of Joanne, Katie, Paula, Libby, Judy, Angie, Maria and Andrew, adored granda of Niall, Tadhg, Fiona, Andrew, Jack, Lizzie, Alex, Tiernan, Sarah, Grace, Ryan, Aoife, Tom, Rory, Kathryn, Ellen, Ruth, Jane, Daniel, Patrick and Thomas, brother of Mairín and the late Cyril. Tom will be sadly missed by his wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, sons in law, daughter in law Tara, sister, sisters in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces and friends

Tom will repose at his home (A91T3K6) from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, House Private at all other times. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am in St Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock. Private Cremation will take place afterwards.

Family flowers only, donations to MS Society

The car park at St Oliver Plunkett Church can be used to facilitate parking cars

(née Hamill)

Clonseady, Magheracloone, Monaghan / Dundalk, Louth

Fiona Matthews, (née Hamill), Clonseady, Magheracloone Co Monaghan, and formerly of Avondale Park, Avenue Road, Dundalk, Co Louth, suddenly at her home, 22nd September 2023. Fiona loving daughter of Tommy and Kathleen, cherished mother of Tom, sister of Irene. Fiona will sadly missed by her father, mother, son, sister, Irene’s partner David, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

May She Rest in Peace.

Fiona will repose at McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street (A91XW66) from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday. Funeral Mass on Monday afternoon at 2pm in The Holy Family Church, Dundalk. Burial afterwards in Knockbridge Cemetery.
