Daire's dream journey continues

Little Blue Hero invited to Ireland v Netherlands match.

Daire O'Gorman's dream journey continues after he was invited to attend the Ireland v Netherlands match at the Aviva earlier this evening.

A week after the young Monaghan man's passion for football inspired so many, with videos of his emotional reaction to watching beloved Liverpool now watched millions of times, the Little Blue Hero was invited to attend crunch European qualifier by the FAI.

Before the match former Liverpool players Ray Houghton and Ronnie Whelan took time out to meet Daire and his dad in person, and sign some Liverpool and Ireland memorabilia for the Honorary Garda for Cavan-Monaghan.

Keith Hill, a member of the Monaghan Branch of Liverpool's Supporters Club, was involved in arranging the surprise day out.

Garda Divisional Roads Policing DMR South Central also assisted with Daire's transport logistics to the Avia Stadium

Daire touched the hearts of many after his recent birthday to remember went viral online.

Not only did the Little Blue Hero group organise a trip to Anfield for him ahead of his twelfth birthday to watch Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa, he was also presented with jerseys signed by current Liverpool player Diogo Jota and retired club legend Jamie Carragher.

Daire, who comes from Dunraymond between Ballybay and Monaghan town, has an extremely rare condition Crommelin Syndrome leading him to have no arms from the elbows down and is also missing femur bones in both legs meaning he is in a wheelchair full time.
