Cavan road closed for two week period due to works

Works started on the Virginia Ballyjamesduff road today.

A Cavan road is set to be closed for public use for two weeks to accommodate maintanance works.

Diversions are currently in place in the area.

A social media post by the council stated "as part of the restoration improvement programme 2023, Roadstone, working on behalf of Cavan County Council, will be closing the R194 from Virginia to Ballyjamesduff for a two-week period from Monday, 28 August until Friday, 8 September.

"Diversions will be signed, with northbound traffic on the N3 taking the R196 towards Ballyjamesduff, and southbound traffic from Ballyjamesduff also using the R196."
