Leaving Cert results out today

Over 900 students who sat their Leaving Certs in County Cavan are set to get their results today (Friday), August 25.

Some 904 pupils sat their Leaving Cert, while 87 pupils completed the Leaving Cert Applied programme.

The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has said that the results will be available online from 10am and in the schools from early morning.

Parents and students, meanwhile, are being urged to avail of the services of a free career guidance helpline, manned by career guidance counsellors, set to open this Friday. The National Parent and Student Leaving Certificate Freephone Helpline is available on 1800-265-165 (see page 38 for more).

CAO offers

The Central Applications Office (CAO) has said first round offers for school-leaving applicants will issue next Wednesday, August 30, at 2pm. Applicants typically have several days to accept their offer of a college place. Round two offers will follow on Monday, September 11, at 2pm.
