Emergency Department under pressure

Cavan General Hospital's management has reported the Emergency Department is currently under pressure.

While the Emergency Department is still providing full emergency care where required, they are urging the public to seek alternative pathways to care where appropriate.

Su-Zann O’Callaghan, General Manager, Cavan & Monaghan Hospital issued the following short statement: "Our Emergency Department is experiencing high volumes of patients and we would appreciate your support in using alternative pathways e.g. GP, Pharmacy etc.

"We are still providing full emergency care if it is required. Thank you for your support."
