Corleggy House, formerly known as Riverview, is for sale by private treaty.

A rare find in Ballinagh

A period home with modern features and a picturesque backdrop is for sale in Ballinagh.

With an asking price of €750,000 Cloggy House features three bedrooms and 1.8 acres of land. It is to be sold by private treaty.

Originally called Riverview (in the townland of Cloggy), the property was build circa 1780 by the Faris family- important producers of flax for the linen industry- who farmed the surrounding lands.

The front field was called the 'bleaching green' and it was here the flax was laid out. In the early 1970s, the house was purchased by a French couple who used it as a holiday home. They redecorated the interior in the rustic style of a French farmhouse, complete with shutters on all the windows.

Auctioneer Raymond Smith of Smith Property says: “Cloggy House is a lovely period home, with notable features, that touches River Erne. It's quite unusual as it is a period home with a B3 energy rating, which tells you a lot about how well-insulated it is and its quality in general. It has retained many of its original features such as its sash windows, but it also has a new extension added on to it as well. It is a very well-known house around the areas of Ballinagh, Cornafean and Crossdoney.”

The property also enjoys modern features such as high-speed broadband, an unspoiled yet accessible rural location less than 6km from Ballinagh, oil-fired central heating and solar panels, a private well, and a bio-cycle sewerage system.
