Cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, some heavy

Weather update from Met Éireann

Sunshine and showers most days with a dull wet day on Wednesday. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Mostly cloudy today with occasional outbreaks of rain, turning heavy or possibly thundery in some spots later. There will be some limited sunny spells too. Breezy, in moderate to fresh westerly winds, with stronger winds in the northwest for a time this morning. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees.

Lingering rain will mainly affect northern and southern counties for a time overnight, with clear spells and scattered showers elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in mostly moderate westerly winds.

A mostly dry day tomorrow (Tuesday) with sunny spells and scattered passing showers, with rain developing in southwestern parts by evening and extending northeastwards. Light to moderate west to northwest winds, becoming southerly with the rain. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

Rain will spread further inland overnight on Tuesday with mist and low cloud about too. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees with mostly light variable breezes.

Wednesday is set to be a wet day with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle throughout. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees, with moderate north to northwest winds developing.

Long clear spells and some showers along northern coasts overnight on Wednesday. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees, in moderate north to northwest winds.

Sunshine and scattered passing light showers on Thursday. North to northwest winds will remain mostly moderate in strength. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees.

Current indications suggest Friday will be fairly cloudy with rain in southern parts, and sunny spells further north.
