Boomtown Rats to headline ‘Cavan Day’
Concert at Cavan Town’s Egg Market on Saturday evening, July 29.
The Boomtown Rats will play Cavan Town’s Egg Market on Saturday evening, July 29, a crowing moment of this year’s homecoming festival.
The band's bass player Pete Briquette originally hails from Ballyjamesduff, adding a special local connection to this diaspora celebration. He will be joined on stage by original members Bob Geldof, and Simon Crowe to perform classics such as ‘Rat Trap’ and ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’.
Traffic restrictions will be in place on Saturday ahead of the performance, with Main Street closed from its junction at Bridge Street to the intersection at Dublin Road/ College Street, and local access outside of that.
Cavan County Council has engaged with An Garda Siochána on policing arrangements throughout the week, including the weekend.
