Funding available under Peaceplus Programme
The Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) has opened a number of funding calls for the €1.1 billion PEACEPLUS Programme.
This is a new EU funding programme designed to support peace and prosperity across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland.
The Programme is a funding partnership between the European Union, the governments of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and the Northern Ireland Executive, and will be administered by SEUPB.
PEACEPLUS will build upon the work of the previous programmes, PEACE IV and INTERREG VA, with a focus on peacebuilding activity, contributing to prosperity, and building the economy. The new programme will encompass elements from both the PEACE and INTERREG funding programmes, which, since 1999, have delivered €3.39 billion of funding to over 23,000 projects.
Applications for funding can be submitted by a range of organisations including local authorities, public sector bodies as well as voluntary and community sector organisations. Organisations wishing to explore funding opportunities can find out which Investment Areas are open on the website.
PEACEPLUS funding will be delivered across six themes – each of which aims to address longstanding social, environmental, and economic challenges which have impacted, and continue to impact, on local communities.
Theme 1: Building Peaceful and Thriving Communities
Theme 2: Delivering Socio-Economic Regeneration and Transformation
Theme 3: Empowering and Investing in our Young People
Theme 4: Healthy and Inclusive Communities
Theme 5: Supporting a Sustainable and Better-Connected Future
Theme 6: Building and Embedding Partnership and Collaboration
Details on how to apply can be found on the website below.
There will be further information on Small Grants, available under Theme 1 and 6, later in the autumn.
