Annual Sam Bennett Memorial Vintage run set for this weekend

CHARITY Funds for Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Fund

The ever popular Sam Bennett Memorial Vintage Run is set to take place this Saturday, June 24.

The annual event organised by Ballinagh and District Vintage Club sees vital funds raised for the Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Fund.

Crowds enjoying the spectacle will have the chance to contribute to the fundraising with bucket collections in Cavan, Butlersbridge and Killeshandra.

Calling for support on Saturday, Club Chairman John Tully and Club member John Walsh said that all donations for the worthy cause will be very much appreciated.

Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care fund was established in 1993 to provide funds to purchase equipment for the then newly formed Palliative Team in Cavan.

It progressed to providing night nurses, home help and equipment for the patients, to enhance the quality of life for both the patient and the family during the illness.

"It is a very good service," assured John.

The fund idea was the brainchild of Jimmy O’Donnell. The main sponsor of the Sam Bennett Memorial Run is Joe Ebbitt, Tractor Parts in Crossdoney.
