Leona one shot off the lead in Michigan
Leona Maguire hit a 65 to leave her just one shot off the lead at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan.
The Ballyconnell made a solid, if not spectacular start with an opening round 69 on Thursday.
However, she came roaring into contention with a second round 65 that leaves her on 10 under in a four-way tie for second.
The highlight of Maguire's second round came at the very end with an eagle on 18.
She also holed seven birdies, including four in a row from 12 to 15 and with the only blot on her copybook being two bogeys.
Ayaka Furue leads the way on 11 under after a 67 at the Blythefield Country Club course.
Her fellow Irish woman Stephanie Meadow, who had also made a good start on Thursday, is six shots off the lead after following up Thursday's 70 with a three-under 69 that moves her up to five-under overall, just inside the top 30.
