It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Cavan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

None were reported from County Monaghan over the period.

Brian Donohoe

Ardlougher, Ballyconnell, Cavan

DONOHOE, Brian, Ardlougher House, Ballyconnell and the Star Furniture and Carpets, Ballyconnell formerly Supermarket, Main St. Suddenly and peacefully at the Mater Private Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

His strong and supportive presence will be forever missed by his loving and heartbroken wife Anne, children, Niamh, Áine, Etaoin, Pádraig, Clodagh, their partners, his sister Mary, brother John, grandkids, relatives and friends.

May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at his residence tomorrow evening, Tuesday, from 5 o'clock until 9 o'clock. House private at all other times please. Removal on Wednesday morning arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes church, Ballyconnell for funeral mass at 12 o'clock via Ballyheady, Ballinamore road and Main street. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only but do please share your memories of Brian with us in the coming days and weeks. He lived a long and happy life and we’d love to hear about him through your memories.

Brian's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the medical staff at the Mater Private Hospital especially those in St Elizabeth's ward who cared for Brian over his last few days.

Laura Mary Donohoe, Larrigan, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan. Monday June 12th Much loved daughter of James and Stephanie (née Goldrick) and dear sister of Niall. Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, brother, grandparents Mae Donohoe and Val and Jenny Goldrick, aunts and uncles, Olive (Tommy Tully), Mary (Kevin Gallagher), Sean Donohoe, Owen Goldrick, Brian Goldrick (Katie), John Goldrick (Katie), Philomena Mulvey (Martin), Evelyn (Cyril), Sheila and Chloe, grandaunts and granduncles, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at her home Tuesday evening from 4.00pm to 8.00pm and again on Wednesday from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. Removal from her home on Thursday 15th at 11.30am to St Matthew's Church, Drumavaddy, to arrive for requiem Mass at 12.00 noon, interment afterwards in adjoining new cemetery.

Corlea, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Annie (Anna) Smith, Corlea, Kingsourt, Co Cavan, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her loving family Sunday 11th June 2023. Predeceased by her parents Philip and Annie Fitzpatrick, her sister Mary Gargan and her brother Frank Fitzpatrick. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Bernard, son Henry, daughter-in-law Jane, sisters Teresa and Bernadette, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews and nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace

Reposing at her residence (A82 HC63) on Tuesday afternoon from 3pm to 8pm to family, close friends and neighbours. Removal on Wednesday evening to St. Joseph's Church, Corlea (A82 XE94) arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass takes place on Thursday morning at 10am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingscourt.

Valerii Zakharov, Kyiv, Ukraine / Crosserlough Co. Cavan. Monday, June 12th unexpectedly. Sadly missed by his loving wife Olena, daughter Olga, son in law Frank, grandsons Alex and Mark, extended family and friends.
