Cavan will face Down in the quarter-final of the Tailteann Cup, following this morning’s draw.

The match will take place at Kingspan Breffni this Saturday (June 17), throw-in time TBC.

In the other quarter-finals, Antrim meet Carlow, Meath take on Wexford and Limerick host Laois.

Having knocked Donegal out of the Ulster Championship, Down came into the Tailteann vying for favouritism with Cavan.

Mickey Graham’s men beat the Mourne side by 10 points in a tempestuous National League game on March 5 at Kingspan Breffni en route to promotion and the league title.

In the Tailteann Cup, Cavan beat Laois, London and Offaly to top the group and secure a home quarter-final. Down, meanwhile, had wins over Waterford and Tipperary and a defeat to Meath in the group.

They came from five points down to comfortably see off Longford in the preliminary quarter-final on Saturday.
