Tractor sales company branches into parts trade
CONVENIENCE Cavan Autotrac open parts store at Derrycramph site
Tractors seem to pick summer - the busiest time of year to break down.
Cavan Autotrac’s new online tractor parts business aims to ensure that farmers will be able to get their tractors back up and running as quickly as possible.
Whether it’s a filter for a five-year-old John Deere or a new part for your old faithful - tractor James Pratt is confident they will supply it asap.
“We’ve always had a small parts business here, to look after our own customers and machines,” James explained to the Celt. “But we noticed a gap in the market locally: no one was really pushing a wide range of machinery and tractor parts - parts for all makes and models - not only new machines, but older machines.”
To provide the service, Cavan Autotrac struck a deal with Quality Tractor Parts (QTP) and have set up an impressive store at their Derrycrapmh premises on the outskirts of Cavan Town.
“We can supply a wide range of parts for tractors from 1960 to 2023 and everything in between,” he enthuses.
“We have hydraulic filters, fuel filters, air filters, full-service kits for every make and model in stock - and hopefully on the shelf. Similarly we have belts for all makes and models in stock.
“We have a good range of items on stock covering your day to day running: starters, alternators for the popular models. Anything we don’t have in stock we will have next day.”
So if you are that unlucky farmer whose tractor has broken down you can check out their easy-to-use website: www.cavanautotracparts.ie
Select your tractor make and model and buy the part there and then in a matter of a few clicks and you will be notified if it is in stock. Local customers can head along to Cavan Autotrac to pick up the piece or they can have a courier deliver it across all of Ireland and the UK within two business days.
“Hopefully we will have it on the shelf, and on larger items we have repair kits from engine rebuilds to clutch kits, body panel for older tractors - bonnets, grills, mud guards. A lot of these parts would be to order, and we will have 95% of it the next day.”
James views the fact the Pratt family can boast decades of experience in the tractor trade in County Cavan as an advantage.
“A lot of time people still pick up the phone and say, ‘I want to put a name or a face to the website’.
“You have that comfort that we are a brick and mortar store as well - if you aren’t familiar with online you can still come in.”
He’s eager to assure that himself and Richard and Clive Pratt are happy to provide clarity for any requests.
“If you have a question mark or something a bit unusual we’re at the end of the phone - pick it up and give us a call and then complete your order online or in person.”
James says they run a price comparison with their competitors online to ensure value.
“We would be very confident that on both quality and price, we won’t be beaten on either.”
