Tánaiste in Cavan today to open school extension in Ballyjamesduff
The official opening of a €3 million extension to St Clare’s College in Ballyjamesduff will take place at 11.30am today.
Tánaiste, Minister for Defence and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin and Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, Josepha Madigan, are due to attend.
The project includes a sensory room and garden, ASD and SET classrooms, a library and two playgrounds.
Principal Karl McCartin and the staff, students and school community are looking forward to welcoming the Ministers and local dignitories to show off the new extension.
Meanwhile, on Monday of this week, the Minister for Education, Norma Foley, sanctioned another main stream modular classroom for the school to cater for its growing student numbers.
Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smith welcomed the news.
"I compliment the Principal Karl McCartin and staff colleagues, Board of Management and Parents’ Association on their work in having additional facilities provided at St Clare’s. I wish all involved with this project every success with this important work,” he said.
