Showery most days but mild and warm

Weather update from Met Éireann

Unsettled with rain or showers most days. Mild or warm though, especially in sunny spells. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Cool and rather breezy today as rain slowly extends northwards. Some sunny spells further north of the country early on today, where it will stay dry till late afternoon. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain gradually moving up from the south - some heavy bursts likely. Cooler than recent days with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 or 15 degrees Celsius. Moderate to fresh easterly winds will ease later but mist and low cloud will occur more widely then too.

Some further outbreaks of rain will occur tonight, heaviest early on with mist and fog persisting in some areas, especially along the south coast. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees Celsius, in just light southerly or variable breezes.

Lingering rain will affect the north for a time Friday morning with low cloud, mist and fog affecting other parts of the country. While sunny spells will develop, scattered showers will occur too, some heavy and possibly thundery into the afternoon and early evening. Mild and humid with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, in light southerly or variable breezes.

Residual showers will continue overnight on Friday with some mist and fog setting in too. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees Celsius.

Saturday will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells with widespread slow moving showers, heaviest into the afternoon and evening with possible thundery downpours. Highest temperatures will generally range 15 to 18 degrees, in light to moderate southerly winds. Becoming drier early in the night under broken cloud with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees Celsius.

Sunny spells and scattered light showers are expected during Sunday morning and early afternoon, followed later by cloudier skies as rain and drizzle gradually extends countrywide, last to arrive to the east. Highest temperatures will range 14 to 19 degrees Celsius, warmest in the east, in moderate south to southwest winds. Heavy rain will follow overnight, clearing into the Irish Sea before morning. Low cloud and mist too. Very mild with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, in moderate south to southwest winds.

Monday will see a day of sunny spells and scattered passing showers with a few heavy ones likely. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, again best values away from Atlantic counties, in mostly moderate westerly winds.
