Gardaí investigating fire in Carrickmacross

Gardaí in Carrickmacross are appealing for information following a fire at a house on Mullinary Road in the town which occurred on Saturday March 11.

At 1:50 pm Gardaí arrived at the scene and were informed that a person may have be in the property.

Two Gardaí searched the property but nobody was found inside. Fire services subsequently brought the blaze under control.

Both Garda members were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to receive treatment for smoke inhalation and are continuing to recover.
