Fresh weather warning issued for Cavan
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow ice warning for Cavan as well as 14 other counties.
The warning which will come in to effect at 7pm tonight (Friday March 10) will effect Cavan as well as Donegal, Monaghan, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and Connacht. It will be in place until 10am on Saturday March 11.
Temperatures are forecast to drop as low as -5 to 0 degrees with widespread frost and icy surfaces, leading to hazardous travelling conditions.
On the morning of Saturday March 11 rain, sleet and snow will spread north eastwards to all areas, with some small accumulations of snow possible in parts of Ulster as well as Connacht and Leinster. Temperatures are expected to improve with highs of 1-3 degrees celsius.
