It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Micheál Smith

Slanore, Crossdoney, Co. Cavan

Micheál Smith, Slanore, Crossdoney, Co. Cavan, Sunday, March 5th 2023, peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan. Beloved son of the late Michael and Mary Kate Smith and predeceased by his brothers Sean and Seamus, baby sister Mary and his sister in law Maura. Micheál will be very sadly missed by his niece Bridie, nephews Pauric (Roisín), Seamus (Geraldine), Raymond (Sarah), Marie (Tony), Antoinette (Johnny), Martin (Noeleen), sister in law Ann, all his relatives, great neighbours and many, many friends.

May he rest in peace.

Micheál will repose at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan (H12 C821), this Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Tuesday morning at 10.30am from his home in Slanore to St. Patrick’s Church, Drumcor, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Kay (Catherine) Daly (née Maggs)

Tiragarvan, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Kay (Catherine) Daly (née Maggs). Tiragarvan, Carrickmacross. 3rd March 2023. Unexpectedly, at her home. Predeceased by her parents Reggie & Cepta, her brother Gerry and her nephew Joey Mooney.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her cherished family, her partner Seamus (Sham) McKenna, her daughter Dara, her sons Seamus (Fiona), David (Tracey) & Paul (Lucy), her adored grandchildren Naoisha & Noah, her sisters Florence & Jacinta, her brothers Reggie, Noel & David, her aunts Gaby & Ann, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.

Kay will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Tuesday, 7th March, from 2pm until 8pm.

Kay's funeral cortège will leave the funeral home on Wednesday, 8th March, at 10:45am, proceeding on foot to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by cremation, for family & close friends, at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
