Dry today with a good deal of sunshine

Weather update from Met Éireann

Remaining generally dry and settled through the working week with high pressure continuing to dominate our weather. So says the latest weather bulletin from Met Éireann.

Dry today with a good deal of sunshine, especially towards the west of the country. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light to moderate easterly or southeasterly breezes.

Staying dry in most areas. Just a few isolated showers, mainly confined to Leinster. Temperatures will fall to between -1 and +3 degrees, coolest inland with some patches of frost expected. Winds very light and variable.

Largely cloudy tomorrow (Tuesday) but remaining dry in most parts. Isolated showers will continue to affect eastern areas early in the day, spreading to the south of the country during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light northeasterly breezes.

Dry in most areas Tuesday night with just isolated showers, most likely towards the southeast of the country. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coolest under clearer skies in the west. Winds remaining light, northeasterly.

Another mostly dry day on Wednesday with a few further showers possible in the east and southeast. Largely cloudy with the best of any bright spells in western areas early in the day. Maximum temperatures of around 7 or 8 degrees in light east to northeast breezes.

Wednesday night is promised mostly cloudy with a few showers in southern and eastern coastal areas, otherwise dry. Minimum temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees. East to northeast winds remaining light.

Mostly cloudy Thursday with just occasional bright spells. Isolated showers will continue during the morning and afternoon, clearing later in the day. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in very light easterly or variable breezes.

Largely cloudy but dry overnight on Thursday with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees. Winds will remain very light, veering southerly or variable.

Remaining generally dry throughout the day on Friday. Partly cloudy with the best of the bright spells early on. Highs of 7 to 9 degrees in near calm conditions.

Mostly dry again on Saturday with occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures of around 7 or 8 degrees in very light southeasterly or variable breezes.

Further outlook: Conditions may turn more unsettled as we move into next week with more persistent outbreaks of rain possible.
