‘Drumlin Moons of Mountains’ for Museum

Cavan based ceramic artist Eimear Crowe is launching her exhibition 'Between drumlin moons of mountains' in Cavan County Museum, Ballyjamesduff on Thursday, March 2. This exhibition, supported by Cavan County Council Arts Office, will run in the Eden Gallery of Cavan County Museum until March 19.

The work in this exhibition is inspired by the landscape of Fartrin Bog near Ballyconnell. This ceramic sculptural work references the bogs unique biodiversity and social history. In collaboration with members of the West Cavan Bogs association.

Through a professional development grant from County Cavan Arts office and the Cavan Heritage Office, Cavan Town-based ceramic artist Eimear worked in collaboration with the West Cavan Bogs Association and a team of UCC environmental archaeologists as part of the Wet Futures initiative, learning about the techniques used in the analysis of a bog’s microscopic archaeology and the methods in carrying out their work in bog landscapes.

Eimear’s work primary uses hand-built clay techniques with applied coloured slips and glazes. Her work considers the fragilities of the human condition, landscape and culture.

This event is free, and all are welcome.
